Job Title: Distribution Customer Support Specialist Wage/Hour Status: Non-ExemptJob Role: Distribution Service Funding Source: LocalDepartment/School: Facility Services Pay Grade: OS 5Function: BusinessReports to: Supervisor of Distribution Services HR Date Approved: November 2006 HR Date Revised: November 2025SUMMARY:Contributes to the smooth flow of information communications educational materials and supplies throughout the district. Maintain a commitment to the District mission; model District expectations through personal leadership and actively support the efforts of others to achieve District goals.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Receiving and Distribution Guide collaborative efforts to support effective delivery of instructional materials to the assigned areas of the district. Collaborate with various departments to support the receipt storage retrieval and distribution ofinstructional materials and supplies.Inventory Prepare annual inventory reports for designated units and functions; implement and oversee inventory management processes; and conduct inspections of instructional materials. Compile and maintain all physical and computerized reports records and other documents required for instructional material function of the distribution department: submit data to appropriate state agencies.Safety Follow established safety procedures and techniques when performing job duties including lifting and carrying. Operate tools equipment and vehicles in accordance with prescribed safety guidelines. Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly report any issues that cannot be immediately resolved to the supervisor. Adhere to district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain safety standards in compliance with federal state and insurance regulations.Other Communicate departmental activities to other district offices and administrators and represent the distribution department as needed in meetings and related activities.Policy Reports and Law Maintain confidentiality. Accurately report work hours using the time clock to report start and end times. Utilize effective communication skills; ensure that all interactions are supportive courteous and respectful. Pursue Professional Development activities; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives. Comply with all policies operating procedures legal requirements and verbal and written directives. Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators. Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent; or combination of education and experience Valid Texas drivers license with a record of safe drivingExperience: One year of successful experience in logistics operations within a collaborative team environment.Other: Must be 18 years of age or olderSPECIAL KNOWLEGDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of effective inventory management methods and practices Ability to conduct on-site inspections Ability to understand and follow detailed written and oral instructions Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive interactions Ability to apply safety rules and regulations for job assignments and equipment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel Skilled in team building and collaboration to implement measure and improve programs and servicesMENTAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; forklift or hydraulic lifting equipment; hand truck dolly and pallet jack; small hand tools; light truck or vanPosture: Frequent standing kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positionsMotion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent walking climbing ladders and scaffolding; grasping/squeezing wrist flexion/extension and overhead reaching; frequent drivingLifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (50 pounds and over) dailyEnvironment: Work outside on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures dust noise vibration; exposure to chemical (herbicides and fertilizer) and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours Frequent districtwide travel No remote workMental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress at work; prolonged or irregular hoursRequired Experience:IC Key Skills Design Engineering,Baan,Customer Service,Fund Management,ABAP,Elevator Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
