Job Description
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years related experience in sales in the food service industry
The individual will possess proven leadership abilities, analytical skills, excellent communication skills and prior management experience of commissioned sales professionals.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel, Word, and Powerpoint).
Ability to travel throughout assigned geographic or account-based territory to support sales group and call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and provide ongoing sales support.
Preferred:
Bachelor degree, previous food service experience in a distribution environment, SAP experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Monitor daily sales activity in assigned area/territory.
Maintain positive relationships and interact regularly with customers and prospective customers within assigned district.
Review territory sales analysis for trends and escalate issues accordingly.
Select, train and develop an effective and efficient staff.
Interview candidates for open positions and make hiring decisions.
Establish and communicate performance metrics, standards and objectives; conduct performance reviews.
Recommend salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, disciplinary action, dismissals and terminations.
Train & develop staff and counsel employees on educational and job opportunities which will enhance their career development.
Coach and counsel employees on performance issues.
Conduct periodic meetings with staff to keep them informed of current problems, changes and new developments in the department and company.
Administer all policies and procedures set forth by DON.
Monitor district/territory work productivity and recommend and/or implement changes to improve work productivity based on goals and objectives.
Plan, schedule, and assign workloads, and coordinate workflow and procedures to maximize service.
Cross train staff to maximize productivity and provide coverage of all functions.
Keep Manager informed of activities and problems within assigned area of responsibility; refer matters beyond limits of authority and expertise to manager for direction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
