This position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a real impact by leading a team that provides essential motor vehicle and driver services to Virginias citizens.As an Assistant Manager you will play a key leadership role in supporting daily operations supervising staff and ensuring excellent customer service across all DMV programsincluding driver licensing vehicle registration dealer services and tax collection. We dont just talk about our valueswe live them every day.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise coach and support customer service staff to achieve performance goals and deliver quality service.Assist with human resource functions facility operations and financial management within the customer service center.Oversee compliance with DMV policies procedures and state and federal laws.Ensure the safety and security of staff customers and DMV assets.Evaluate workflows and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.Serve as acting manager in the absence of the Customer Service Center Manager.About the Virginia DMVHeadquartered in Richmond Virginia DMV serves over 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders and maintains more than 8.4 million registered vehicles. Beyond serving the public we partner with dealers motor carriers local governments and other organizations across the Commonwealth to keep Virginia moving.Minimum QualificationsComprehensive knowledge of DMV policies procedures and regulatory requirements.Strong leadership and team management skills including performance evaluation conflict resolution and staff development.Ability to analyze workflows identify inefficiencies and implement operational improvements.Proficiency in customer service principles ensuring professionalism and accuracy in interactions.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with staff customers and stakeholders.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex issues and ensure compliance.Additional ConsiderationsAdvanced knowledge of project management principles and techniques.Familiarity with legislative and regulatory changes impacting DMV operations.Experience in developing training programs and fostering professional growth.The Assistant Manager must be 21 years of age to administer road examinations.Special InstructionsYou will be provided a confirmation of receipt when your application and/or résumé is submitted successfully.
