Drafter IILocationUS-SC-North CharlestonID2025-10632CategoryCAD DrafterPosition TypeRegular Full-TimeApplication Open Date11/18/2025DescriptionEnsuring that the product/service and process meet quality and safety standards in accordance with NAVSEA and NIWC requirementsResearching and preparing drafts and/or finished technical drawings to program management and customersAssisting in receipt, distribution, and local management of Design Agent produced technical data in support of the local production of CSRR, GBS, CANES, and ADNS systemsIncorporating and maintaining the most current CSRR SCN and Modernization drawing packages to include all drawing redlinesDeveloping and maintaining Master PLAR/LAR/RLAR matrixes for CSRR SCN and Modernization drawing packagesReviewing and analyzing released engineering change data and redline drawings and submitting recommended changes to engineering, quality, materials, and supportCollecting data and status reports from Corporate Production required for weekly/bi-weekly Production & Integration meetingsProviding direct support to the Afloat Submarine C4I IPT Technical Lead in drawing and engineering documentation reviewReviewing preliminary and existing technical engineering drawing documentation for discrepanciesDeveloping and submitting proposed recommended resolutions in support of PARMALT Liaison Action Records (PLARs) or Planning Yard Liaison Action Records (LARs) submissionsProviding DMSMS support as requiredParticipating in System Integration Team (SIT) meetings and Systems Engineering Working Group (SEWG) meetingsParticipating in all CSRR Production meetings with NIWC Atlantic Corporate Production contractors and other NIWC Atlantic staff and Industry Partners to resolve drawings and part issuesProviding cursory QA reviews of production work as directed#LI-JC1RequirementsFour (4) or more years of experience solving technical problemsTrained in the skills and techniques related to engineering and/or software design/maintenancePossesses a practical understanding of engineering/software conceptsExperience testing equipment/system to make sure that the process operates effectively and safelyCapable of performing depot-level repair and tests of equipment and cables in accordance with NAVSEA and NIWC requirementsAbility to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of Exterior Communication Systems (ECS) equipment and cablesKnowledge of computer aided drafting (CAD), ability to prepare shop drawings for model construction, and familiarity with material specifications and fabrication methodsExperience developing/maintaining and interpreting project timelines as requiredExperience developing test procedures and removal/installation procedures as requiredDesired SkillsFamiliarity working with a wide range of government civilians (NAVSEA, PEO C4I, NUWC, and naval shipyards), military personnel, contractors, shipbuilders, and vendorsAbility to communicate effectively via telephone, email and in personVerbal and written communication skillsProblem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to read and correctly interpret engineering Level 3 mechanical, electrical, wiring table, and sub-assembly fabrication drawings and documentsShort-term planning and computer skillsKnowledge of engineering/Mil-Spec/Mil-Std/NAVSEA methods, operation techniques, and other principles in determining potential solutionsExperience working with Exterior Communication Systems and Equipment onboard USN SubmarinesProficient with:Microsoft WordMicrosoft ExcelMicrosoft PowerPointMicrosoft ProjectMicrosoft VisioMicrosoft AccessMicrosoft TeamWinzip7-ZipAdobe ProfessionalFamiliar with:SolidWorks, Creo or InventorAutoCAD/VisioClearance InformationSRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVELTravel RequirementsMinimal travel; potentially once per yearAbout UsScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
