Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryNO WEEKENDS! NO NIGHTS! And a cleaning company that cleans the center at night!Assistant teachers are responsible for the supervision of up to 8 children ages 6 weeks to 36 months under the guidance of a classroom teacher. DutiesResponsibilities include:Using positive discipline techniques to support independence, self-regulation, and social skillsSupporting children in developing self-help skillsRecord keepingCommunicating with familiesMaintaining confidentialityMaintaining conduct and professionalismMaintaining a safe, learning environmentImplementing curriculum that supports children's growth and development in alignment with the CTELDSGathering data regarding children's growth and development in alignment with the CTDOTSMaintaining required certifications - CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Background checks, CT Charts-A-Course Registry, current statement of good health, Covid vaccinatedDemonstrating reliability and punctualityRequirementsAssistant teachers must be at least 18 years old with at least a high school diploma or equivalentExperience working with young children, preferably 3 referencesReliable transportationAbility to SMILE: Smile, Make others feel special, provide Information, Listen, Engage with childrenNice To HavesEvidence of formal Early Childhood Education coursework will increase pay rate upon hireBenefitsEmployees working 35 - 40 hours/week are considered full time after completing a 90-day work test period.Full time employees are eligible for:Paid holidaysPaid time off401(k)Medical planEducation/Training opportunitiesDiscounted tuition for an enrolled childEmployee social eventsEmployee Assistance ProgramAll employees will have the benefit of a supportive work environment.
