Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryOur Floating Teachers play a key role in supporting classrooms by providing consistent, reliable coverage during planning time, staff absences, and vacation needs. This position works across multiple age groups and classrooms to help maintain smooth daily operations and ensure high-quality care for all children.DutiesProvide classroom coverage as needed to support teacher planning time, days off, and vacations.Help deliver and support age-appropriate lesson plans and daily learning activities.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, including assisting with daily cleaning routines.Facilitate nature-based play experiences and engage children in outdoor learning aligned with program philosophy.Build positive, collaborative relationships with staff and contribute to a fun, supportive team culture.Follow all center policies and licensing regulations to ensure the health and safety of every child.Communicate effectively with classroom teams to ensure continuity of care and smooth transitions.RequirementsCPR and AED Training (required or must be obtained upon hire).Either an ECE Associate’s Degree or completion of the state-required Early Childhood Foundational Trainings.Experience working with children in an early childhood setting preferred.Ability to adapt to different age groups, routines, and teaching styles.Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork.Willingness to support nature-based, play-centered learning approaches.Nice To HavesBackground or prior experience in Early Childhood Education.A love for the outdoors and comfort working in all weather conditions.Coursework or experience in environmental sciences or nature-based learning.Training in Conscious Discipline or other social–emotional learning frameworks.Familiarity with the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS).Completion of Pyramid Model training or experience implementing Pyramid Model practices.Knowledge of infant or early childhood mental health principles.Experience supporting inclusive classrooms or working with diverse learning needs.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for play-based learning.BenefitsDiscounted Child Care RatesAccess to Aflac benefits with a $50/month employer credit.Weekends off to support a healthy work–life balance.Choice of schedules based on availability:Five 9-hour shifts with a 1-hour break each day, orFour 10-hour shifts with a 1-hour break each day.Paid holidays and your birthday off.Paid training and professional development opportunities, including access to early childhood educational conferences.Self-funded 401(k) retirement plan.A workplace culture centered on care, respect, and collaboration.A supportive team that values your well-being and work–life balance
