Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryLittle Wonders is inviting individuals that share our love of play and learning to join our team as Early Childhood Teachers. Teachers are responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team. coordinating the curriculum and managing the day-to-day operational activities or our indoor and outdoor classrooms. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants and resolve parental concerns. Reach out to us today and let the fun begin!DutiesCoordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standardsLead by example, encourage teaching team success through modeling and coachingPlan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growthMaintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, parent teacher conferences and approved parental communication platformsEnsure all center policies and state regulations are metEnsure a clean, healthy and safe classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of childrenSupervise teacher assistants and students to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standardsMaintain accurate records, forms and filesMaintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvementRequirementsMinimum of 1 year of professional child care experienceMinimum CDA (Child Development Associate's) or betterStrong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skillsHigh energy and an ability to work well with others (staff, children and parents) and to foster a team environmentA strong understanding of child developmentExcellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skillsMust clear full background check and must pass health screeningPhysical requirements include ability to walk indoors and outdoors, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tool or controls, talk and hear voices at many levels. Following a state approved curriculum that is aligned with both New Jersey Birth to Three Early Leaning Standards and The New Jersey Department of Education's Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards, our staff provides students with opportunities to grow and explore across multiple domains of learning and development.
