Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryCommunity Action Partnership Hillsborough Rockingham Counties (CAPHR)is looking for a teacher to provide education within a comprehensive service model. Be part of a team that makes a real difference in the lives of children!Early Head Start provides:Low teacher-child ratios ~ multi-aged classroom of 8 children with 2+ teachersFour training days per year; additional professional development opportunities including workshops or coursework for creditOpportunities for Advancement in the field of early childhood educationThis position is 40 hours per week/52 weeks per year. CAPHR is an Equal Opportunity EmployerDutiesEstablish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment. Develop trusting relationships with the children and families by creating a positive, nurturing environment. Welcome and support families as the primary educator of their child, encouraging the involvement of families and supporting the development of relationships between children and families; provide opportunities for families to participate in the curriculum outside of the classroom.Plan and implement daily learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of childrenAssure completion of teaching responsibilities including, but not limited to:Complete developmental and behavioral screenings on each child within 45 days of starting date and continue with on-going observation and assessment procedures throughout enrollment in the program.Plan and provide daily classroom activities (both teacher-initiated and child-initiated) geared to meet individual needs and interests of the children.Complete 4 family visits per year, scheduling all meetings at the convenience of the family, with the goal of 2 home visits and 2 center visits each year.RequirementsThe candidate will be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field with a minimum of 6 courses in ECE/Child Development (one of which must be Child Growth and Development)Nice To HavesEnthusiasm Energy!Sense of HumorCommitment to ongoing learningBasic use of technologyBenefitsFree individual health, dental vision insurance plansRetirement program with a 10% employer contribution after 1 yearPaid vacation, sick leave, holidaysAgency Employee Assistance ProgramStaff wellness programLimited slots for discounted childcare
