We are determined: above all else we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:LIFEGUARD:Maintains CPR First Aid and AED certifications.Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations.Responds to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner.Knows understands and consistently applies safety rules policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.Remains calm and objective when under pressure or when challenged by others.Maintains accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state health department code.Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving.Performs chemical testing when not guarding as required and takes appropriate action.QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum age of 16Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent (We will assist in obtaining needed certification)Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readinessJob Type: Part-time 4:45am - 9am (Mon-Fri)Salary: $11.00 - $13.00 per hourBenefits:Employee discountFlexible scheduleSchedule:Day shiftNight shiftWeekend availabilityEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Lifeguard: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:First Aid Certification (Preferred)Lifeguard Training (Preferred)CPR Certification (Preferred)Work Location: One location Compensation: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex national origin disability status protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
