Careers Site: https://www.success.edu/careers-with-sec/ It is the belief of the faculty of the Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing (MFSON) that each team member should have defined responsibilities and that the MFSON accepts the responsibility of supporting its team members in the achievement of both departmental and individual professional goals. The Nursing Education Resource Specialist is responsible for orienting and mentoring students and faculty to academic resources and support services for the nursing program. The Nursing Educator Resource Specialist reports directly to the Dean of Nursing. Duties and Responsibilities Provide and participate in delivering education navigation and support. Create and deliver structured classes that focus on time management, financial aid, writing discussion board responses, Moodle, college transition, campus resources, academic policies and procedures, study skills, test taking skills, note taking skills, reading skills, learning styles, stress management, and life skills management. Collaborate with campus staff (Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, etc.) to coordinate student services to develop a positive sense of belonging, academic skills, and life skills in enrolled students. Schedule and hold office hours to ensure availability for assistance with assignments, course progression, or other issues being experienced by the individual student. Facilitate student compliance with the college and nursing department policies and procedures. Act as a liaison between students and faculty. Assist faculty in identifying high risk students and implementing appropriate interventions as needed. Adhere to all college policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or doctoral degree preferred. Possess broad “generalist “skills in assessing and intervening with a wide range of academic and personality concerns. Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and writing skills. Knowledge of the Moodle Learning Management System Platform preferred. Proficient computer skills, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Benefits: Competitive total compensation package.
