Classes are typically taught fromMondaythroughSaturday with90-minute sections.Class Schedule:Morning lessons: 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.Afternoon lessons: 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.You will notbe requiredtoparticipatein excursions outside your assigned duties. However given the demanding nature of MLA programs you may occasionally be asked toassistoutside your standard working hours to ensure the smooth operation of the center.KEY POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIESAssisting the DoSSupport the Director of Studies in managing the academic life of the school.Promote and develop the academic curriculum and academic life of the school.Develop and implement MLAs educational philosophy and foster a culture of best practice.Complete all administrative tasksrequiredefficientlyAssist the DoS with timetabling teachersAssist the DoS with center and classroom set-upAssist the DoS with student admissions andmonitorarrangements for speaking placement testsAttend any training sessions or meetings asrequired.Cover lessons when necessary and motivate students to improve their learning skillsAssist the Director of Studies with certificates and graduation ceremonySupport the Center Director and work collaboratively with Center Administrator and Activity Manager to ensure the successful running of the center and program when necessary; including assisting in the staff induction and take an active part in discussion and feedback.Staff ManagementSupport the DoS in leading and managing allESLteachers by encouragingsupportingand challenging teachers tomaintainMLAs high academic standards.Monitor teachers prompt completion of all administrative tasksrequiredEnsure teachers prepare lessons and adapt material/stages to their class compositionAttend and/or lead academic meetingsMonitor staff performance and be the first port of call for any teacher in need of advice or support.Cover for absent staffRecord andmonitorall absencesSupervise the preparation of student reports within agreed deadlinesTraining & CPDAssist the Director of Studies with all Continuous Professional Development programs.Support teachers in delivering the Task-Based learning syllabusCarry out inductions for new teachersIf TEFLQ carry out formal observations and appraisals in line with the MLA observation guidelines and rubric.AdministrativeOversee the allocation of staff in consultation with the Director of StudiesOversee the timetabling of teachers and classroom allocationMonitor live updates of student attendance on the Teacher ZoneProvide cover teaching when necessarySupervise the completion of up-to-date teaching records on the Teacher ZoneEquipment and FacilitiesMaintain andmonitorteaching resources and premises.Ensure classrooms are left secure and tidy after useEnsure borrowed equipment has been returned.Help developadvanceand expand teaching resourcesSafeguarding & WelfarePromoting the welfare of students and adhere to andcomply withtheSafeguarding PolicyProvide safety and welfareassistanceto students.Be vigilant forpossible welfareproblems of studentsInform your DoS of any absences from classesimmediatelyReport any issues which may be affecting students safetywellbeingand academic performanceBe aware of relevant firehealthand safety issues in the classroom and around the centerCOMPENSATIONTheAssistantDirector of Studies position is classified as exempt and will receive a weekly salarycommensuratewith the successful candidates education and starting salary is$900per week.
