Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Job Posting: EHS Assistant CookSalary Range: Competitive, based on experiencePosting Date: August 13, 2025Estimated Offer Date: September 3, 2025Start Date: September 8, 2025Location: Hartford City (initially), then Marion, IndianaHours: Part-time, 25–30 hours per weekPay: $13-14/hour, based on experience.What We’re Looking ForWe are seeking a dedicated EHS Assistant Cook to join our Early Head Start team. This role supports the EHS Cook in preparing nutritious meals and snacks, maintaining kitchen facilities, and ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, State Licensing, and CACFP requirements. The EHS Assistant Cook will also assist with transporting meals between sites and supporting occasional classroom or event needs.Requirements:Position RequirementsEducation & Experience: High school diploma or GED; at least 21 years of age. Serve Safe Certification and food service experience preferred (must obtain Serve Safe upon hire if not already certified).License: Valid driver’s license with ability to meet agency insurability requirements.Skills: Organization, attention to detail, strong communication skills (verbal and written), and ability to cook, bake, and follow recipes. Computer experience preferred.Physical: Ability to stand, bend, lift/carry 5–50 lbs, and transport food.
