JOB DESCRIPTION

Assembly Technician - Aircraft Lighting

Join a dynamic team responsible for assembling and packaging essential products for commercial flights, including flashlight battery packs, first aid kits, survival kits, and demo bags for flight attendants. This role requires strong attention to detail, multitasking skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders and follow production drawings to assemble panel parts.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) safely.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other using jigs or fixtures.
  • Perform operations such as crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, and press fitting to join parts.
  • Mount assembled components like transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, and sockets on chassis panels.
  • Install finished assemblies or sub-assemblies in cases or external hardware.
  • Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical assembly skills
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints
  • Experience with hand tools and soldering
  • Capability to perform machine operation

Work Environment

Work in a well-lit, quiet, and temperature-controlled environment. The facility is static controlled, which can cause some humidity in parts, but it is manageable. You will work in a bench setting with a team lead or supervisor nearby, primarily performing individual tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a permanent position based out of East Aurora, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $24.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
