Student Program Coordinator

Purpose

To manage, develop, direct and evaluate the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering's (ECE) Bridge Programs, which include our Integrated Masters program, NEXT Program, ECE Partners, ECE Graduate Ambassadors, and ECE academic job professional development events. This position will work with faculty, staff, and administrators in providing for academic programing, advising and services to ECE graduate bridge programs from undergraduate studies and connecting to post-doctoral, academic job market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the ECE Integrated Masters program, including admissions, advising, and administrative support for students, staff, and faculty in the program.
  • Oversee graduate student ambassador and advisory programs, including GREECE and other programs.
  • Manage and coordinate the ECE Next Program; coordinate seminars, admissions and recruitment, workshops, and 8 week research summer program.
  • Manage all stipends for students in the ECE Next Program and coordinate travel for students.
  • Manage and coordinate the ECE Partner Program; provide biweekly check-ins with all Partner mentors; coordinate information sessions, trainings, seminars; maintain and oversee mentor and mentee applications for fall and spring; attend monthly university Actions that promote community transformation (ACT) meetings; participate in all graduate recruitment events; participate in ECE graduate Orientation.
  • Organize and coordinate ECE academic job professional development events.
  • Attend regular meetings with Director of Academics, ECE Next faculty, and ECE Partner faculty to provide status updates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Three years of experience in student project coordination.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with university administrators, faculty, and students.
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Proven strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage and prioritize workload demands.
  • Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities independently.
  • Demonstrated adaptability when required to meet multiple shifting priorities, and rapid change while adhering to guidelines, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • More than three years of experience coordinating student programs.
  • Experience working with coordinating programs in STEM.

Salary Range

$50,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Prolonged screen time.
  • Use of manual dexterity.
  • Periodic work outside of normal business hours, to include evenings and weekends, may be required on a periodic basis or for special events.

Work Shift

  • Standard work schedule is Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
  • Work outside of normal business hours may be required on an occasional basis during peak periods.
