Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) with 6+ years of experience designing electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm/systems for a wide range of building types. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, the ability to lead multidisciplinary design efforts, and a commitment to creating efficient, code-compliant electrical systems.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop electrical system designs for medium to large-scale building projects, including load calculations, layout, equipment selection, and system coordination.Apply advanced knowledge of power distribution, grounding, lighting systems, controls, and fire/life safety systems.Analyze complex engineering challenges and provide practical, technically sound solutions.Coordinate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and construction project managers throughout the project lifecycle.Review design deliverables for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.Prepare drawings, technical documentation, and specifications using industry-standard design tools.Participate in project meetings and client discussions, offering technical guidance as needed.Perform job duties in accordance with safety regulations and internal policies.Complete additional engineering tasks as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDeep knowledge of electrical engineering principles and applicable building, energy, and electrical codes.Experience leading electrical design components on complex, multi-discipline building projects.Proficiency with electrical engineering software such as SKM, lighting and photometric design programs, and current versions of AutoCAD.Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, specifications, design narratives, and professional correspondence.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight.Capable of occasional travel (up to 10%) for site visits or project coordination.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum of 6 years of electrical building systems design experience.LicensureActive Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsRole involves both office and occasional field work, including exposure to outdoor conditions during site visits.Frequent computer-based work is required.Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
