Rough Carpenter at Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS)

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionKenner, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Framing Carpenter / Rough Carpenter.Essential Duties:• Construct and install framing for walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, drawings, and building plans• Measure, cut, and shape wood, metal studs, and other construction materials• Install structural components such as joists, rafters, trusses, and sheathing• Build temporary structures including scaffolding and bracing• Secure materials using nails, screws, bolts, and framing hardware• Inspect framing for accuracy, alignment, and structural integrity• Collaborate with site supervisors and crew members to meet project timelines• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures and maintain clean work areas• Use hand tools and power tools such as nail guns, saws, drills, and levelsRequirements/Skills:• 2+ years of framing or rough carpentry experience (apprenticeship helpful)• Strong understanding of building codes and structural requirements• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and technical drawings• Able to lift 50–100 lbs and work at heights on ladders or scaffolding• Proficient with power tools and carpentry equipment• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work in fast-paced environments• Strong framing and layout skills• Advanced measurement and math abilities• Precise cutting, fitting, and assembly skills• Good communication and teamwork• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills on job sitesPhysical Requirements:• Frequent bending, lifting, climbing, and standing• Ability to work on outdoor and indoor construction sites• Exposure to varying weather conditionsEqual Opportunity Statement:Flexicrew Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with FTS is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications.
