New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Kármán line the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.As part of the hardworking New Shepard Avionics team you will craft develop and verify high-performance avionics hardware for various flight vehicles. You will be integrated with our rocket program and technical leads to drive requirements definition modeling analysis design test and production release of on-vehicle launch flight and power management components and sub-systems. Your responsibilities will encompass electronic requirements architecture concepts detailed design development and addition you will follow avionics designs through formal verification environmental qualification release and participate in flight support activities.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering Physics or related field3 proven years experience in the design of complex hardwareDesire to work hands-on both independently and as part of a team throughout the design verification qualification and production phases of the electronic product lifecycleOur New Shepard Avionics Control and Command team is responsible for vehicle electronic systems: flight computers navigation sensors controls mission support and addition to the general qualifications above we are looking for dedicated individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:Background deploying and supporting sophisticated circuit cards consumer electronics wireless devices or other advanced electronic commercial or aerospace productsExperience working with engineers and process specialist in developing and qualifying avionic systems.An understanding of high-speed digital analog and/or mixed-signal circuit system architecture and troubleshooting.Battery-based power systems including power management power switching charging and battery safetyComputer command and I/O control for sophisticated industrial systems or vehiclesExperience with Data Acquisition Systems and familiarity with a variety of sensor technologiesProficiency with scripted and/or compiled languages such as PythonFamiliarity with Altium and/or Orcad toolsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering Physics or related subject areas.4 years proven experience in design development integration test and operation ofAvionics systems or vehicles:Proven experience specifying and crafting high reliability safety-critical electronics; familiarity with IPC-A-600/610 DO-254 and similar standardsBackground with launch vehicle hardware development integration and testExperience developing embedded software or firmware for 32-bit microcontrollers DSPs and FPGAsProficiency with scripted and/or compiled languages such as Python and .C/CCompensation Range for:WA applicants is $104015.00-$145620.30Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDont meet all desired requirements Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single desired qualification.
