Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.Were looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Spectacles team!What youll do:Own schematic design component selection and stackup definition for boards from concept to final delivery into mass productionDesign in complex display drive components SOCs PMICs video bridge ICs and sensors used in low-power consumer electronicsLead and contribute to technical design reviewsSupervise and review layout for PCB Flex and Rigid Flex designsDebug hardware issues with cross-functional teams such as desense power delivery signal integrity ESD and EMIAnalyze circuit parasitics and tolerances to ensure correct operation over the specified voltage and temperature rangeTest and validate all board level and systems level aspects of electrical designsCollaborate closely with software mechanical optical thermal and industrial design teamsAuthor clear and comprehensive electrical specification and test documentationDevelop electronic prototypes for new product conceptsSupport development builds onsite at external contract manufacturersTravel up to 4 weeks internationally 8 weeks total travel per yearKnowledge Skills & Abilities:Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and understanding of best practicesExperience in electronic design including component selection schematic design and familiarity with schematic capture and layout toolsExperience working with various communication interfaces such as USB I2C/I3C SPI UART MIPI SWD and PCIEKnowledge of layout strategies and tradeoffs for linear and switching power supply circuits EMI mitigation high-speed signal integrity and power delivery networksA strong engineering lab instrumentation background and willingness to spend significant hands-on lab time troubleshooting circuits and electromechanical system assemblies using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes logic analyzers DMMs and programmable loadsGreat interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across groups through written verbal and visual formatsMinimum Qualifications:3 years of post-Bachelors electrical or hardware engineeringexperience; or Masters degree in a technical field 2 year of post-grad electrical or hardware engineering experience; or PhD in a relevant technical fieldPreferred Qualifications:MS degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experienceKnowledge of micro-display systems video standards and related protocols such as HDMI DisplayPortExperience developing consumer electronic devices at production scaleExperience navigating failure analysis with external vendorsExperience with overseas manufacturingFamiliarity with low power/battery operated designsExcellent process development and documentation skillsA passion for Snapchat and creativity!If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation please dont be shy and provide us some information.Default Together Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster reinforce our values and serve our community customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills experience qualifications work location and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.Zone A (CA WA NYC):The base salary range for this position is $157000-$235000 annually.Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $149000-$223000 annually.Zone C:The base salary range for this position is $133000-$200000 annually.This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
