Candidates seeking a degrees in Electrical Engineering and who will be rising Juniors or Seniors are preferred. The successful candidate will gain exposure to engineering consulting practices in the the electric utility industry and in electrical distribution design while acquiring thorough experience and exposure to many of the following professional technical skills and methods:Applying sound engineering principles on active projectsMeeting deadlines and adhering to assigned scopes of workParticipating in department/company meetings and development programsLearning to prepare read and interpret drawings and other project documentsWorking closely with registered Professional Engineers across multiple disciplinesGaining relevant field experience through job site visitsParticipating as part of a project team in an office environmentBuilding professional interpersonal and collaboration skillsUtilizing industry software to develop engineering analyses and design drawingsDeveloping written and verbal technical communication skillsAcquiring technical skills through training and firsthand experiencesManipulating and applying data to the analysis of real-world situationsReading interpreting and properly applying design codes and standardsWorking in a dynamic and team-based environmentDeveloping critical thinking and practical application skillsLearning practical application of engineering principlesDeveloping formal reports and calculation documentsLearning various problem-solving approachesLearning attention to detail and importance of engineering work qualityOperating within an established job process and product quality frameworkGaining exposure to the integration of various advanced technologies into our project design activities.Minimum RequirementsApplicants must be pursuing BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university and must have completed at least their first year of coursework successfullyApplicants must be able to demonstrate academic achievement initiative integrity work ethic and willingness to learnThis position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.Orbital Engineering Inc. has provided worldwide professional engineering and consulting services since 1969.
