Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.Were looking for an Electrical Validation Engineer to join the Spectacles team!What youll do:Test Execution: Perform hands-on validation tests of electrical hardware prototypes subsystems and integrated products using various lab equipmentTest Setup: Assist in setting up and configuring validation test benches including connecting lab equipment custom fixtures and test automation systemsData Collection & Analysis: Collect and organize test data performing initial analysis to identify trends or deviations from expected behaviorDebugging Support: Support senior engineers and reliability engineers in debugging hardware and system-level issues by isolating problems reproducing failures and gathering relevant diagnostic informationDocumentation: Accurately document test procedures results observations and bug reports.Scripting: Own the development and improvement of simple test scripts and automation routines for data collectionCollaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including design firmware software and test engineering to understand specifications and contribute to problem resolutionPerformance Characterization: Independently characterize basic electrical parameters like power consumption signal integrity and timing under various conditionsContinuous Learning: Actively seek to learn new validation methodologies tools and hardware technologies from senior team members and industry best practicesTravel internationally up to 20%Knowledge Skills & AbilitiesFoundational understanding of electrical engineering principles including digital and analog circuits power electronics and basic signal integrity concepts.Hands-on experience with common lab test and measurement equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes digital multimeters power supplies function generators).Basic proficiency with scripting languages for test automation (e.g. Python MATLAB LabVIEW).Experience with debugging hardware in a lab environment.Good understanding of firmware/software interaction with hardwareExcellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information.Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and contribute in a team environment.Minimum Qualifications:Associates degree in Electronics Electrical or relevant technical field5 years of experience in electrical hardware validation test engineering or a related fieldExperience with embedded systems microcontrollers or FPGAsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)Ability to specify and select test equipment for lab improvementsFamiliarity with common high-speed interfaces (e.g. USB PCIe DDR MIPI)If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation please dont be shy and provide us some information.Default Together Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster reinforce our values and serve our community customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills experience qualifications work location and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.Zone A (CA WA NYC):The base salary range for this position is $157000-$235000 annually.Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $149000-$223000 annually.Zone C:The base salary range for this position is $133000-$200000 annually.This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
