Southwest Electric Co. is seeking a skilled individual to support the design, engineering, and technical execution of medium and large power transformer projects. The role operates independently at the Oklahoma City site while closely collaborating with colleagues across the global BU Power Transformers organization.
Electrical Wiring Assembly Summary: An assembly technician must demonstrate the ability to disassemble and assemble various components, parts, and sub-assemblies related to medium voltage switchgear throughout the entire assembly process. This role also involves assisting wiremen with the installation of electrical components. Candidates should be skilled in using a variety of tools and equipment. Prior experience with electromechanical assembly procedures is required, and applicants must be able to read and understand assembly drawings effectively.
Electrical Wiring Assembly Responsibilities:
- Installation of copper bus bars & cabling per engineered drawings.
- Installation of insulating materials, including shrink insulation, GPO3 insulating fiberglass parts, and supports for electrical conductors
- Ability to read both mechanical and electrical drawings for the location and type of equipment to be installed per section.
- Install electrical components per drawings.
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, and physical.
- Complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
- Training in a Technical discipline, trade school or electrical theory education preferred.
- Military experience a plus.
- Two plus years of electrical experience and/or training preferred
