Join GDIT as a Marine Electrician (US Navy Submarine) for a career where your growth is just as important as the mission you support.The SUB AIT program supports the In-Service Attack Submarines Program Office (PMS 392) under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN) to achieve optimal submarine operational readiness by providing /production support, component repairs and technical support to accomplish repair, maintenance, removal/installation, troubleshooting and associated testing for Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) submarine maintenance availabilities.The efforts associated with this program will help restore and maintain the material condition and modernization of the fast attack submarines of the United State Navy.Requirements2+ years experience performing repair work on nuclear submarines within the trade they are being assigned.HS/GED Must be US Citizen.Confidential Security Clearance or higher level required.Personnel shall have at least 2+ years experience performing repair work on nuclear submarines within the trade they are being assigned.Personnel shall have DOW type final security clearance (DISCO authority with a minimum of a confidential clearance status).At a minimum, all personnel shall be United States citizens and shall possess a final favorable adjudicated tier 3 investigation. Contractor personnel must have a Department of War Personnel Security Clearance (PCL) at the confidential level or higher.Marine Electricians Non-Nuclear Electrical Work (TSD EW): Install, modify, repair, troubleshoot and test various electrical and electronics systems, circuits, controls, instruments and equipment. Also includes installation of wire ways and cabling.Marine Electricians Generator/Motor Repair, Electrical (TSD E4): Shop work such as disassembly, inspection, test, cleaning, varnishing, baking, and reassembly, and shipboard investigate/repair generators, motors, and transformers electrical component.Marine Electricians Topside Electrical Work (TSD TZ): Remove, Disassemble, inspect, repair, adjust, test, and install external electrical systems cabling in tanks, voids, and sails. Includes installation of hull fittings, penetrators, and tank level indicators.Marine Electrician TasksTSD EW (Non-nuclear Electrical Work):Remove, modify, and install electrical equipmentRemove, install, groom, and band wireways and cablingPack and unpack equipment and bulkhead penetrationsRepair electrical equipment and cablingUtilize electrical checks to test and troubleshoot electrical systemsDisconnect, groom, and reconnect wiringTSD E4 (Generator/Motor Repair, Electrical):Disassemble and replace motor and generator componentsTroubleshoot, modify and adjust motors and generatorsBalance motor and generator componentsInsulate using mechanical and dip methodsStone and bevel commutator and slip ringsAssemble motor and generator componentsTSD TZ (Topside Electrical Work):Remove, modify, and install electrical equipmentDisconnect, remove, install, groom, band, and reconnect wireways and cablingUtilize electrical checks to test electrical systemsRemove, install, and test hull fittings, penetrations, and tank level indicatorsMarine Electrician Skill RequirementsTSD EW (Non-nuclear Electrical Work):Trained, qualified and have experience with all tasks and components similar to that outlined for TSD EW.Trained and experienced in cutting in cables and hooking up equipment, panels, and boxes IAW Navy Standard Methods DrawingsExperience performing SUBSAFE work IAW NAVSEA 0924-062-0010 L/R(Submarine Safety Requirements Manual).TSD E4 (Generator/Motor Repair, Electrical):Trained, qualified and have experience with all tasks and components similar to that outlined for TSD E4.Trained and experienced in cutting in cables and hooking up equipment, panels, and boxes IAW Navy Standard Methods DrawingsExperience performing SUBSAFE work IAW NAVSEA 0924-062-0010 L/R (Submarine Safety Requirements Manual).
