Industrial Electrical Journeyman - Water / Wastewater Projects

Job Description

We are a nationally active electrical contractor supporting complex industrial infrastructure projects across the United States. Our success is driven by experienced, safety-focused electricians who take pride in delivering high-quality work on mission-critical facilities.

Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Journeyman with a strong background in water and wastewater treatment plant projects. Candidates should be capable of performing commercial and industrial electrical installations with minimal supervision, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
This role supports critical infrastructure environments where reliability, precision, and adherence to process controls are essential. Experience with treatment facilities, pumping stations, process equipment, and industrial control systems is strongly preferred.

Essential Accountabilities

This position is safety-sensitive, requiring full attention, sound judgment, and adherence to all safety procedures to protect personnel, facilities, and the public.

Install, maintain, and service electrical equipment used in water and wastewater treatment facilities, including:

Control panels
MCCs
Switchboards
Junction boxes
Industrial switches

Connect and disconnect electrically powered pumps, motors, and process equipment
Troubleshoot and repair motors, generators, and related systems
Replace fuses and set circuit breakers on high- and low-voltage systems
Diagnose electrical issues using wiring diagrams, schematics, and single-line drawings
Perform work independently and collaborate effectively with project teams
Provide direction and support to less experienced electricians
Assist with evaluating and mentoring apprentices
Maintain production expectations when proper tools, materials, and equipment are provided
Complete required continuing education annually

Qualifications & Education Requirements

Demonstrated experience on water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, or similar municipal/industrial facilities
Strong knowledge of electrical components, systems, and safety codes
Proven understanding and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Arizona Electrical Journeyman License or equivalent experience (subject to management approval)
Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program and/or required continuing education
Minimum 5 years of experience performing quality electrical work in industrial or commercial construction
OSHA 10-Hour Awareness Training (training provided if not already certified)
Ability to work in industrial environments with process-critical systems
