Kelly® Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom (SETT) is hiring an Electromechanical Test Technician for a long-term opportunity in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.


Electromechanical Test Technician (R&D Lab)

Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Hourly Pay: $35.00/hr W2

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides skilled technical assistance in an R&D testing laboratory.
  • Coordinates laboratory calibration and maintenance activities through planning/scheduling equipment PMs/calibrations and interactions with client systems for services in the lab and is responsible for calibration documentation and records.
  • Maintains lab compliance with EHS policies ensuring environmental health and safety compliance, permits, work process, sustainability initiatives and training.
  • General ordering and management of lab consumables, reagents/detergents.
  • Supports the verification and qualification of laboratory equipment and test method verification.
  • Performs audit support, archiving and records retention.
  • Coordinates with outside contractors regarding repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Documents daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures.
  • Supports routine tasks associated with Functional/Kinematic Tests as requested and directed by DPS Lab staff.
  • Technician(s) will perform mechanical and functional testing independently under the input and guidance from a research and testing engineer.
  • This includes communication with multiple disciplines, knowledge of mechanical testing apparatus/methodology, and data reporting.
  • Independently execute mechanical testing to assess functional requirements of implants and instruments
  • Perform mechanical testing such as fatigue, endurance, static and dynamic testing, tensile testing, corrosion testing, and load to failure.
  • Prepares test specimens, setups and performs laboratory experiments per provided protocols, work instructions and validated test methods or industry standards (Instron, MTS, Vivo, Simsol).
  • Analyze data using statistical analysis.
  • Documents test results and procedures.
  • Maintains laboratory records according to procedure.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
  • Clearly and professionally communicate test findings, technical challenges, and proposed resolutions to R&T members.

Qualifications:

  • Electrical engineer background.
  • Technical experience with Electrical test equipment and supportive fixture building.
  • 2-5 years of experience in instrumentation and control or installing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing equipment or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory testing execution per provided protocols and standards (Instron, MTS, Vivo, Simsol).
  • Familiarity with material manufacturing processes; material mechanical, physical, and chemical testing; and material characterization.
  • Functional/Mechanical Test focused.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with diverse team members.
  • Skills required include verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, task management, problem solving, and mechanical aptitude.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required and a minimum of two years of related experience and/or training. Associates degree in scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience.
