Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Assembly TechnicianJob DescriptionThis position requires the ability to perform various functions, excluding welding, across different stations and feeder areas within the assigned department. The role involves assembling mechanical support assemblies according to specifications, identifying and assembling all parts, and being able to flex between workstations and assembly lines.ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical support assemblies to specifications.Flex to other workstations and assembly lines as needed.Identify and assemble all parts.Practice and sustain 5’s methods.Understand material ordering systems.Apply proper sealing procedures for all products.Identify motor sizes and read data plates.Perform plumbing and electrical work on units.Work from ladders up to 20 feet in height.Familiarize with knock down packing and crating.Install special accessories on units, understanding their function and installation.Follow appropriate procedures, policies, and instructions of ISO for quality assurance.Mentor and drive LEAN principles in the area.Contribute to improving safety performance and resolving identified safety issues.Support the achievement of departmental safety goals, including near miss reporting and safety metrics.Execute other duties as requested or directed.Essential SkillsStrong initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.Good communication skills and professionalism in interactions with representatives, customers, and coworkers.Understanding of bill of materials.Working knowledge of computers, including ManMan and PPD systems.Ability to use simple math and basic handheld measuring tools.Capability to understand and react to job schedules.Flexibility and adaptability to change.Ability to maintain regular attendance and take appropriate precautions against hazards.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with assembly, hand tools, production, blueprints, and mechanical assembly.Ability to use hand, power, and air tools.Proficiency in reading blueprints and using a tape measure.Mechanical inclination.Background in construction or mechanical fields in a manufacturing setting.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a manufacturing facility with a typically loud noise level, requiring hearing protection. Most work is performed indoors, though exposure to weather elements occurs when large bay doors are open. Housekeeping is managed per shift, and workers should expect to become dirty during their work. Steel toe or composite toe boots are required, alongside PPE supplied by the client, including ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and arm shields.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, DE.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.66 - $19.66/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
