The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is seeking Senior Electronics Design Engineers to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Eastern Service Area - Engineering Services Groups located in:College Park GAWashington DCBurlington MANashua NHThe ideal candidate will support the daily operations of the FAAs Telecommunications Portfolio and the goal of converting and modernizing National Airspace Connectivity. The scope includes Small Tower Voice Switches Telecommunications Infrastructure Replacement Air to Ground Protocol Converters and NEXCOM Radios. This is a design centric position supporting modernization of Voice Switches for the Air Traffic Control System throughout the Eastern part of the United States.Job Duties Include:Evaluate existing site surveys to develop scope of work for site preparation requirementsConduct site surveys at remote sites for site preparation requirementsDraft site preparation scope of work for facilities based on site survey reports and facility dataIdentify Contract Line-Item Numbers (CLINs) required to complete site preparationDevelop cost estimates for site preparationReview contractor site prep proposals for accuracy and compliance with scope of workGenerate Operational Risk Management Pre-Requisite Programs for site preparation and installation of voice-switch equipmentWork with local stakeholders to implement risk mitigations for implementationCoordinate and scheduled site preparation activities with stakeholders and contractor personnelOversee site prep and installation work performed by contractorGenerate periodic status reportsUpdate Corporate Work Plan (CWP) dataUpdate facility drawings (red lines) for draftingBasic Qualifications:Electronics Engineering Degree (B.S.) with a minimum of 8 years experience.Ability to travel > 50%.Ability to obtain a Public Trust Suitability. (To be eligible for the FAA Public Trust you must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder who has resided in the US for the past 3 years).Proficiency in MS Office Suites.Design experience working with AutoCAD or similar tools.Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) National Fire Protection Assoc (NFPA) standards National Airspace System Equipment TowerKnowledge of OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards.Desired Qualifications:Knowledge of National Air Space (NAS) facilities such as ASR ATCT VOR ARSR RCAG.(NASET)NationalAirspace System Equipment Building (NASEB).Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12If youre looking for comfort keep scrolling.
