Job SummaryPerform instructional activities under the direct guidance of the Pre-Kindergarten teacherPrincipal and Pre-Kindergarten Director.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDReports To: Pre-K Classroom Teacher Principal and Pre-K DirectorFLSA Status: NONEXEMPTSupervises: StudentsJob GoalTo assistant in providing the best possible education and services to the students of the CannonCounty School District.Scope of Responsibility/Essential Functions Required to work under the direct guidance of the Pre-K teacher Assist individual students and small groups in developing academic skills Assist the classroom teacher with planning for instruction Perform such clerical duties as preparing instructional materials making reports andother duties as assigned (clerical duties are not however limited to this list) Administer all diagnostic tools as directed by the teacher Assist in preparing the classroom and organizing all instructional materials andequipment as directed by the teacher Maintain student records as directed by the classroom teacher Assist in the supervision of students on bus trips as directed by the building-leveladministrator and teacher Comply with all TDOE Pre-K policies procedures and guidelines as well as ChildcareRules and Regulations Required to attend district and state staff development including Child AbuseAwareness CPR Certification and First Aid Certification Attend all in-service when directed to do so by the principal Pre-K Director or Directorof Schools Prepare for breakfast and lunch in the classroom Recess or playground duty with teacher and Pre-K students Dismissal of Pre-K students and early arrival as designatedOther Responsibilities Project a positive image of the Cannon County School District at all times Keep information confidential concerning school business Act in a professional manner at all times May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities Successful completion of Criminal Justice fingerprint/background process and drugscreen Appropriate Attendance Record Dress neatly and appropriately Performs other duties as assignedTemperament (Personal Traits)Ability is required to schedule activities meetings and/or events; gather collate and/or classifydata; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide varietyof circumstances analyze data utilizing defined but different processes and operate equipmentusing standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individualsand/or groups work with data of varied types and/or purposes and utilize specific job-relatedequipment. Problem-solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem-solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines and problem-solving with equipment is moderate. Specific ability-based competencies required tosatisfactorily perform the functions of the job include establishing and maintaining constructiverelationships adapting to changing work priorities maintaining confidentiality exhibiting tactand patience and working flexible hours.Capacity and Ability RequirementsSpecific capacities and abilities may be required of an individual in order to learn or performadequately a task or job duty. Skills are required to perform multiple highly complex technical tasks with a need toperiodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-basedcompetencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include applyingassessment instruments operating standard office equipment including using pertinentsoftware applications and preparing and maintaining accurate records. Knowledge is required to perform basic math including calculations using fractionspercentages and/or ratios; read technical information compose a variety of documentsand/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and drawconclusions.
