Fire Extinguisher Technician at Pye-Barker Fire & Safety

Responsibilities include inspecting testing and performing fire extinguisher checks in accordance with fire code; identifying system deficiencies; and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstall or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildingsTest and repair fire extinguishers already in placePerform inspections to ensure fire extinguishers are installed according to codeComplete detailed inspection reports documenting any issuesReport results of work completed in an accurate and timely mannerProtect and maintain company equipmentInspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment submitting repair requests as necessaryOperate warehouse equipment including vehicles following all safety regulations and manufacturer instructionsWork in accordance with company safety procedures including driver safety and proper use of PPERespond to emergency service callsMaintain a clean and safe workspacePerform other duties assigned by managementEducation/QualificationA high school education or equivalent preferredTrade experience is preferred but not requiredKnowledge of fire extinguishers or fire protection industry standards is preferredTroubleshooting skillsMust have good interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and in a team environmentMust have a clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from the office or job siteMust be flexible with scheduling including occasional evenings weekends and out-of-town assignmentsKnowledge of principles and practices of life safetyKnowledge of applicable codes and regulations and the ability to interpret apply and explain themAbility to review documents for completeness and accuracyAbility to maintain accurate records and reportsAbility to recognize and report deviations through inspection programsAbility to understand and follow oral and written directionsOther DutiesAdheres to the Code of Conduct Confidentiality Agreement and Company Safety PolicyPerforms other duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsRegularly required to stand walk use hands to handle or feel reach with arms stoop kneel crouch or crawl and occasionally lift/move heavy objectsRequires physical abilities such as balancing climbing grasping hearing mental acuity pulling pushing repetitive motion speaking and visual acuityBenefits and Perks:Excellent payMedical dental visionCompany paid life insuranceCompany paid short-term disability401K with employer matchPaid vacation and company holidaysTraining and Career DevelopmentCompany vehicle (if job applicable)Immediate qualification for theALL In Ownership Plan for all eligible full-time employeesPye-Barker Fire and Safety is an Equal Opportunity EmployerRequired Experience:IC Key Skills Hardware & Networking,Food & Beverage,Field,Inventory Management,Back Office Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
