JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Eden, NC • Service Setting: Inpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 07/01/2025 Open (6 8 months with potential to extend) • Clinical Shift Schedule: 6a 6p and 6p 6a (12-hour MD shifts) PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics • Patient Volume/Census: 28,200 annual visits ( 77/day) • Phone Consults: Yes (as needed) • Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • EMR System: MediTech • Support Staff Available: 12-hour NP coverage (11a 11p); no scribes • Reason for Coverage: Full-time vacancy (2 FT MDs needed) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (emergency temps available) • Credentialing Timeline: Expedited possible COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: REQUIRED PROCEDURES • General Emergency Medicine procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active North Carolina medical license and DEA with NC address required • Certifications: - Board Certified in EM, IM, FP (ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, ABIM, ABPS accepted) - Board Eligible within 5 years of residency also accepted - ACLS, PALS required; ATLS required for non-ABEM physicians • Experience: CME within past 2 years; recent residency graduates accepted (3-year minimum) • Other Qualifications: Flu shot required; documentation of diploma, training certificates, and board certification required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency medical care during 12-hour day or night shifts • Collaborate with mid-level staff and other providers • Complete onboarding and EMR (MediTech) training before start • Deliver care in a high-volume ED with 77 patients per day
