JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Breaux Bridge, LA • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: May 2025 May 2026 • Clinical Shift Schedule: 6a 6p; 6p 6a PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: 47 patients/day (Annual Volume: 17,015) • Admissions: 3.2% • Case Mix: Emergency Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 5 • EMR System: Ochsner EPIC • Office Equipment Available: TBD • Support Staff Available: NP/PA coverage 10 hours/day (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri); No scribes • Reason for Coverage: Locum Tenens support (12-month assignment) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: days with clean file COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Included in all-in rate REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Core EM procedures including intubation, laceration repair, splinting, and central line placement JOB REQUIREMENTS • Active Louisiana license • ATLS, ACLS, PALS, BLS • Minimum 2 years in Emergency Medicine • BC/BE in EM, FM, or IM (no alternative boards accepted); EMR training required prior to orientation DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency medical care to patients of varying acuity • Perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures • Work collaboratively with NP/PAs and clinical staff • Manage patient flow and care in a 5-bed emergency department • Accurately document clinical activities using EPIC EMR • Complete all onboarding and orientation as required by the facility
