JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Emergency Medicine PhysicianJob Type: Locum TenensLocation: Atlanta, TXService Setting: InpatientCoverage Type: Clinical OnlyCoverage Period: 01/01 01/2026Clinical Shift Schedule: 7a 7p; 7p 7a daily COVERAGE DATES01/01 01/2026 PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults and PediatricsAdmissions: YesPhone Consults: Yes, as required for specialty coordinationCase Mix: General Emergency Medicine, Trauma, Stroke, and Acute Care FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: EpicOffice Equipment Available: Standard ER diagnostics and monitoring equipmentSpecialty Backup Available: Full specialty support per CHRISTUS Health standardsSupport Staff Available: Physicians, nurses, and ancillary staffReason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: YesTemporary Privileges Available: YesCredentialing Timeline: 90 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURESStandard Emergency Department procedures (not individually specified)Stroke and trauma care competency required through CME compliance JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Texas medical license requiredBoard: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine preferred; FM/IM trained physicians with ED experience acceptedDEA: Active DEA registration with Texas address requiredCertifications: ACLS (if not Board Certified EM), ATLS, NIHSS, BLS, PALS, TNCC per hospital policyExperience: Emergency Medicine experience requiredOther Qualifications:Completion of application packet with CV, photo ID, board certification, and referencesProof of immunizations or positive titers for required vaccines (Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Flu)TB screening within the last year (Quantiferon, T-Spot, or 2-step skin test accepted)Chest X-ray and questionnaire required if TB positiveMust provide CME documentation (minimum 4 stroke hours annually and 9 trauma hours per 3-year period) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients of all agesPerform assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment for acute medical conditionsCollaborate with nursing staff and consulting specialists to ensure quality patient outcomesParticipate in trauma, cardiac, and stroke response protocolsUtilize Epic EMR for accurate and timely documentationEnsure adherence to CHRISTUS Health policies, compliance standards, and credentialing requirementsMaintain required CME training to ensure trauma and stroke readiness
