The Estelle Unit, located in Huntsville, is home to UTMB s dedicated Emergency Department campus, established in February 2023. This state-of-the-art facility offers 24-hour emergency care not only to the Estelle location but also to inmates from surrounding units. Equipped with advanced medical resources including X-ray, ultrasound, diagnostics lab, respiratory services, telehealth capabilities, a dedicated dialysis treatment area, and a mobile MRI the ED allows providers to deliver urgent and emergency care swiftly and securely.
