Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEMT/Security OfficerWe are seeking a caring and friendly EMT/ Security Officer at John Knox Village, a leading healthcare and life plan community located in Pompano Beach. In this role, the selected candidate will respond to emergency calls from Residents, Employees and Visitors in a efficient and professional manner. When not responding to emergency calls, this position will perform roving duties.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Rapid response to emergency calls from a dispatcher such as requests for medical assistance following emergency response proceedings.Assess emergency medical situation and perform physical examinations as needed.Administer first aid treatment and other emergency care to sick or injured persons and assist with facilitating the transport to medical facilitiesDetermine whether ER visit is needed.Provide emergency medical care and other treatment pursuant to EMT certification.Utilize necessary medical equipment to treat and ascertain the extent of injury or illness.Complete incident reports documenting any medical response calls on campus.POSITION SKILL REQUIREMENTSTechnical skills and KnowledgeHigh School Diploma or GED.Possess and maintain a State Certified EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic license.Valid Driver's License.2 to 4 years of related experience.Must have strong attention to detail and note taking skills.Ability to effectively manage stressful situations and more than one task at a time.Must be able to sit, stand and patrol for long periods of time.Ability to lift and push at least 50 pounds, and have the stamina, endurance, and flexibility to repeatedly lift, bend, and kneel.Interpersonal SkillsOutstanding communication skills. Ability to read, write and speak in English.Able to effectively communicate via two-way radios.Demonstrated ability to remain calm at all times.Demonstrated ability to be helpful, courteous and attentive.
