This position will be responsible for implementing complex, secure networks on a case-by-case basis that revolves around the business and technology needs of the customer. Core competencies include but are not limited to troubleshooting and debugging network issues, handling network security exploits, network traffic analysis, and VPN encryption. The Network Security Engineer provides network and firewall support to customers.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Provide best in class customer service to Logicallys customer baseAdhere to company values while following best practices and operational proceduresEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and all contractual and regulatory requirementsManage the status of open tickets/projects and complete technical and operational tasks to address project deliverables efficiently and accuratelyImplement secure networks on case-by-case bases dependent upon circumstantial business and technology requirementsResponsible for implementing appropriate IT security procedures, configuring security software, and implementing security administration functions across multiple platformsResponsible for performing product deployments and assessments as well as making recommendations to enhance and expand the cybersecurity portfolio of customersCollaborate with the team to ensure customer service level agreements (SLA) are metProvide network and firewall support to customersProvide support, engineering, configuration, and troubleshooting for Cerdants network security infrastructurePerform network troubleshooting, network traffic analysis and debugging, security incident response; implement VPN encryptionDevelop and maintain network security documentationApply risk management framework to assess cybersecurity risks of network appliances and provide strategic recommendations to bolster security and reduce attack surface while maintaining required operational capabilitiesParticipate in on-call support rotationQualifications:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or relevant experience2-4 years experience in network architecture and deploymentPreferred to have at least 1 of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE, Fortinet NSE4 or higher, SonicWall Network Security Administrator (SNSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)Knowledge ofSTP, LAG, LACP, ACL, LLDP, 802.1X, and NAC protocolsKnowledge of firewall policies, security standards, and managing rulesetsUnderstanding of L2 switching and spanning tree technologiesUnderstanding of network design and troubleshooting techniquesPreferred experience configuring firewall, wireless, and switching products such as Fortinet, SonicWall, Extreme Networks, Palo Alto, Cisco, etc.Preferred experience managing complex customer networksPreferred experience with network architecture and deploymentAbility to communicate effectively with customers and various levels of management both verbally and in written formAbility to work in a team environment and demonstrate superiorleadership, presentation, and planning ability, as well as verbal and written communication skillsBusiness acumen; translating business requirements into related solutionsFlexible and able to remain calm in times of stress while managing multiple priorities at one timeActive listener with excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to handle difficult conversationsSound problem-solving technique with ability and persistence to generate options and select the best solutionAbility to build relationships based on trust to enable collaboration and cooperation amongst team members and internal/external stakeholdersAbility to communicate effectively with customers and various levels of management both verbally and in written formAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentTeam player mentality and willingness to share knowledge with othersLogically provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, gender identity, sexual orientation, and other protected classes.
