The annual pay range estimated for this position is $82,053.60 - $102,567.00 and is bonus eligible.
Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities. About the Role
Biomanufacturing Technicians operate and maintain systems that support the fermentation processes of bio-based products, including enzymes, fertilizers, and bioplastics. They are essential in operating and maintaining equipment, initial troubleshooting, and technical process monitoring to help our clients develop and scale and refine their biomanufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities: Process Engineer
- Operate fermentation and bioreactor equipment
- Monitor batch quality and environmental conditions
- Conduct CIP, COP, and SIP to ensure quality of production process
- Inspect products during or after production for defects or inconsistencies.
- Use of instrumentation and/or visual checks to ensure quality standards.
- Record inspection results and flag quality issues.
- Assist in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Ensure safe operation of our process
- Perform basic machine maintenance (e.g., cleaning, lubrication).
- Identify and report malfunctions or safety issues to maintenance teams or supervisors.
- Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance staff, and other operators.
- Communicate issues promptly to avoid production delays.
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with machinery.
- Ability to read technical instructions and use measurement tools.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as required.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with GMP and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with Food Safety and Biosafety standards.
Required and Preferred Education/Certifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Understanding of / Practical experience in fermentation general concepts (Required)
- Certificate or associate degree in bioprocessing or chemistry-focused technical degree (Preferred)
Required and Preferred Work Experience
- Prior manufacturing experience in bioprocessing or food production environment (1-2 years Preferred).
- Familiarity / Working knowledge of associated bioprocessing downstream unit operations (Preferred)
physical requirements
- Ability to safely lift up to 55 pounds without mechanical assistance
- Ability to climb vertical ladders up to 15 feet in height
- Ability to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs repeatedly throughout a shift
- Ability to remain standing for extended periods, up to one hour at a time
- Ability to perform frequent bending and twisting motions at the waist and knees
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, with flexibility to adjust to alternative schedules as business needs require
- This facility maintains a 100% tobacco-free policy, including cigarettes, vaping devices, and all smokeless tobacco production.
