Job Description SummaryThis role supports the Ultrasonic Infrared and Eddy Current Inspection Team which is part of the Aerospace Inspection Solutions (AIS) organization based out of Springdale OH. This team is responsible for designing developing validating and deploying ultrasonic infrared and eddy current NDT inspection techniques for metal and composite aircraft engine components.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesAs an IR engineer you will:Become knowledgeable with respect to IR inspection equipment and processesEngage with design materials and manufacturing engineering teams to define inspection requirements and assess inspectabilityDevelop validate and deploy non-destructive inspection techniquesPerform IR inspections document and communicate results to customersTrain to achieve Level 3/CA certification in IRMature additional NDT methods such as Terahertz as neededProvide technical support to Supply Chain inspection sourcesPerform lean cost reduction and problem solving activitiesCollaborate with colleagues to meet business commitmentsAbility and willingness to support occasional travelRequired QualificationsBachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of Non-destructive Testing experience.Desired CharacteristicsBachelor of Science in Engineering: Electrical Aerospace Materials Mechanical Systems or similarDemonstrated interest in NDTStrong interpersonal and team building skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsProject management and organizational skillsHumble: respectful receptive agile eager to learnTransparent: shares critical information speaks with candor contributesconstructivelyFocused: quick learner strategically prioritizes work committed Leadership ability: strong communicator decision-maker collaborativeProblem solver: analytical-minded challenges existing processes critical thinkerGE Aerospace offers comprehensive benefits and programs to support your health and along with programs like HealthAhead your physical emotional financial and social wellbeing.
