Description: Position Title Quality Engineer Job Title: Quality Engineer Manufacturing Department Location: Waterloo IA - Drivetrain Shift: 1st shift (6:00 am 2:30 pm) - Overtime possible. Visa Sponsorship: Not available now or in the future. Overview: We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role is critical to ensuring the highest standards of product quality and process efficiency within our precision assembly operations. The ideal candidate will be hands-on spending the majority of their workday on the shop floor collaborating closely with production staff. Responsibilities: Spend approximately 80% of each day actively working on the shop floor to support quality initiatives. Conduct quality assurance processes inspections and audits for manufacturing output. Identify and resolve production-related quality issues in collaboration with shop floor personnel. Analyze processes and implement improvements to increase operational efficiency and product quality. Document findings root cause analysis and corrective actions. Assist in precision assembly tasks as needed. Work approximately 2 3 hours of overtime each week based on operational needs. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree (4-year) in Manufacturing or Industrial Technology. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven experience in quality engineering practices and principles. Preferred Qualifications: Precision assembly experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Manager Notes: The position requires a candidate who is comfortable spending substantial time on the shop floor (approx. 80% daily). A hands-on approach and experience with precision assembly are highly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate practical problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset. Weekly overtime should be expected (2 3 hours per week). Interview Process: Initial interviews conducted via Microsoft Teams Position works onsite Additional Information: Business casual dress code. Must wear metatarsal footwear from day one. This position may drive a client owned Gator inside the factory to get from the office area to a different office area in another part of the factory (all connected and indoors). Worker will need to successfully complete client safety training to be approved to drive this. They will transport their computer or parts/tools. Other workers could ride along if they are going to the same areas due to limited number of available Gators. This would not be driven outside. May also drive their personal vehicle to other facilities within a 20 mile radius. Rental cars are not used for this travel.
