THE POSITIONThe Engineering Traffic Engineering and Survey (ETS) Division in the Department of Land Use and Transportation is now hiring an Engineering Associate to join the team!The PositionThe Engineering Traffic Engineering and Survey (ETS) Division in the Department of Land Use and Transportation is recruiting for a position that will perform both civil design duties and plan review duties. The position will be responsible for performing technical engineering work and also will review plans on assigned projects such as maintenance and/or transportation capital projects development related improvement projects and other infrastructure related projects. The position provides technical staff assistance to higher level engineering personnel.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate would have a civil engineering background with knowledge and or experience in civil design engineering construction and/or plan review. An ideal candidate would have some real-world experience be a self starter and be detailed oriented. The ability to manage multiple simultaneous responsibilities while maintaining professional working relationships is desirable.Preferred QualificationsMasters Degree in civil engineering construction engineering management surveying or closely related fieldEngineer in Training (EIT)Certificate of training in ProjectDox Electronic Plan Review SystemCertificate of training in Accela Permitting SystemOregon Department of Transportation Inspection Certification(s): General Construction Inspector Asphalt Concrete Pavement Inspector Bridge Construction Inspector Environmental Construction Inspector Traffic Signal Inspector or ADA Curb Ramp CertificationFundamentals of Engineering certificate in Civil EngineeringCertificate of training in AutoCADCertificate of training in Autodesk Civil 3DESSENTIAL JOB DUTIESTo review the complete classification and list of knowledge skills and abilities for this position follow this link:Engineering AssociateMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:Bachelors Degree in civil engineering construction engineering management surveying or closely related field; ORAssociates Degree in civil engineering construction engineering management surveying or closely related field; AND two (2) years of experience applying civil engineering theory principles and methods with emphasis on maintenance plan preparation and review road and bridge construction inspection and/or design review; ORFour (4) years of experience applying civil engineering theory principles and methods with emphasis on maintenance plan preparation and review road and bridge construction inspection and/or design review.Additional RequirementsMust possess a drivers license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.
