Job DescriptionWork Classification:Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location (Milford MI) three times per week at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.The Role: Vehicle Mechatronics Embedded Controls (VMEC) Electrified Propulsion and Energy Transfer Experience (EPETE) department is responsible for end-to-end Propulsion Charging and V2X Controls SW product for all EV and (P)HEV GM Vehicles; our product scope covers requirement setting controls diagnostics SW calibration development and deployment. The heart of this position is to embrace agile practices that will enable you to grow your teams capability for the future with a focus on speed quality and safety.Are you ready to build an inclusive safety focused culture lead a team to innovative solutions launch new products develop dynamic engineers and drive the strategy to an all-electric future Are you in #EverybodyIn. #IWorkForGMWhat Youll Do (Responsibilities):Enable self-organizing empowered teams to deliver Battery Energy Transfer Software product on-time with quality help develop actionable strategy and support execution in an agile frameworkFoster an environment for high-performing team dynamics continuous flow and relentless improvementMentor coach and develop employees and their careersEstablish and monitor budget for responsible activitiesExecute resource planning for required activitiesModel and foster GMs Core Values and Winning BehaviorsYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):Bachelor of Science in Engineering to include Electrical Computer Science Computer Engineering and Mathematics.Minimum 7 years of engineering experience related to embedded control system calibration related hardware and/or safety critical system developmentDemonstrated results in successful project executionExcellent multi-functional communication and leadership skills - able to get multiple teams moving in the same directionDemonstrated ability to Deal with Ambiguity while driving timely decision makingWhat Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):Master of Science in Engineering and/or Master of Business Administration10 years of engineering experience related to embedded control system calibration related hardware and/or safety critical system developmentLeadership experience of teams of engineers responsible for developing or testing embedded control systems or related hardwareDemonstrated ability to: achieve results through effective teamwork lead numerous projects with different focal areas to successful completion and manage and measure work through metrics data and resultsPrior experience in Electrification domainsExperience managing a global team that is geographically dispersedWorking knowledge of embedded controls development tool set (e.g. IBM Rational Tool Suite Jira/Jama Git ecosystem MatLab-Simulink ETAS)Company vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program though which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate.
