Overview ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F-24961): Bowhead seeks a Engineering Technician to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. The Engineering Technicianperforms assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. Responsibilities The Engineering Technician will support the development, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage battery systems and large-scale electronic devices. This role requires hands-on involvement in testing, measurement, and troubleshooting, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of energetic electronic systems. Essential functions will include: Conduct hands on testing and measurements on high voltage battery systems, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Operate, move, and manipulate large scale electronic components during testing and development processes. Apply strong electrical knowledge to understand and assess large scale electronics from both an energetic and spatial perspective. Collaborate with engineering teams to assist in system diagnostics, performance evaluation, and prototype development. Maintain accurate records of tests, measurements, and observations for analysis and reporting. Ensure a safe working environment while handling high-voltage and energy-dense systems. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's degree in electronics with a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant experience is required. Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team Prior experience at NSWC Crane highly preferred Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a clearance at a Secret level, however candidates with an active Secret level clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
