Engineering TechnicianFull-TimeColumbia, SCA hands-on and detail-oriented Engineering Technician is needed to join their team a growing team. The Engineering Technician will support engineering and manufacturing teams in the design, testing, and implementation of new and existing products and processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, process efficiency, and technical excellence on the production floor.Engineering Technician Responsibilities:Product & Process SupportPartner with engineers on the design, building, testing, and validation of automotive components, assemblies, and systemsLead prototype builds and conducts functional, performance, and durability testingCollect, analyze, and document test data; provide actionable insights for product and process optimizationPlay a key role in New Product Introduction (NPI), including PFMEA, control plans, process setup, and validationManufacturing & Continuous ImprovementDrive manufacturing process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies to boost efficiency, safety, and qualityRapidly troubleshoot equipment and process issues, perform root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why), and implement permanent corrective actionsCollaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to minimize downtime and maximize throughputSupport Six Sigma and continuous improvement projectsTechnical Documentation & Quality AssuranceCreate and maintain detailed work instructions, test reports, technical specifications, and engineering drawingsEnsure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirementsManage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)Equipment, Tooling & Test LabOperate, calibrate, and maintain advanced laboratory and production test equipment (data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, dynamometers, etc.)Design and fabricate custom fixtures, gauges, and tooling using SolidWorks or AutoCADSupport automation and robotics integration initiativesEngineering Technician Qualifications & Requirements:Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field (preferred)High school diploma/GED combined with 2–5+ years of hands-on technical experience will be considered2–5 years as an Engineering Technician, Lab Technician, or Manufacturing Technician in automotive or Tier 1/2 supplier environment strongly preferredProficient reading blueprints, GD&T, schematics, and mechanical/electrical drawingsHands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, data loggers, CMM, and other precision measurement toolsSolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD experience requiredStrong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement toolsExcellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environmentSend resume to Mary Jane Evans Career Transitions: Find Your Dream Job or Hire the Best Talent Career Transitions, a Morale Group Company, is a leading recruiting agency that specializes in helping employers find their next critical hire and job seekers find their dream job.
