Title: Engineering Change Services (ECS) Specialist

Pay Range: $30.00 - $39.36/hourly

Location: Fremont, CA

Job Type: Contract

Length: 24 months (with potential for extension and/or conversion)

Department: Engineering Change Services (ECS)

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week


Position Summary

Seeking an Engineering Change Services (ECS) Specialist to support engineering change control processes within a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment. This role is responsible for generating and managing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), maintaining documentation accuracy, coordinating cross-functional change activities, and supporting engineering teams throughout the product change lifecycle. Additional responsibilities include data analysis, reporting, process improvement initiatives, and facilitating communication across multiple departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and manage Change Orders (COs) through final closure.
  • Perform documentation research to ensure engineering changes are accurate, complete, and compliant with change control procedures and drafting standards.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) Program Managers with Engineering Change Order activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to implement design solutions into Bills of Materials (BOMs) that support manufacturing requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive solutions aligned with cut-in strategies, excess and obsolete (E&O) management, and effectivity planning.
  • Serve as a point of contact for engineering change control processes and related escalations.
  • Monitor and prioritize change activities to ensure timely implementation.
  • Process part numbers, BOMs, and change orders, including preparation for change control board reviews and approval routing.
  • Track documentation from initiation through final approval and release.
  • Monitor document review progress and provide status reporting.
  • Develop, track, and report key performance metrics.
  • Generate and maintain documentation supporting ISO standards, revisions, and releases.
  • Update engineering drawings based on model changes.
  • Support engineering and design teams with drawing and specification updates.
  • Facilitate design review meetings and coordinate meeting logistics.
  • Document key decisions, action items, and distribute detailed meeting minutes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and reporting activities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • Experience supporting engineering change management and configuration management processes.
  • Experience working within PLM environments and change control systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, tracking action items, and preparing documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formatting, and graphing), Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience with SAP and/or iPLM preferred.
  • Experience with Teamcenter and Siemens NX preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime as required to support business and manufacturing needs.


Preferred Experience

  • Engineering drafting experience using Siemens NX CAD.
  • Experience with Teamcenter PLM or comparable PLM systems such as Enovia, Windchill, or Agile.
  • Experience with CAD platforms including Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or Creo.
  • Experience supporting engineering documentation, BOM management, and product change implementation processes.
