Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $60,000 to $90,000 DOE, with Full BenefitsLocation:GE Transportation - (A Wabtec Company) - Erie, PAQualificationsThe technician must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and proceduresWorking knowledge of laboratory safetyStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks appropriatelyA self-starter and self-disciplined in accomplishing tasks can ask questions, find answersBasic understanding of testing conceptsHands on mechanical experience and ability to prototype testing proceduresLifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs.ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the operations team, the Mechanical Testing Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervisionPrepares material specimens for testingPerforms tests as directed by customer specificationsAt times operates under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department ManagerGathers and records test dataCollaborate with team to conduct testing, collaborate with engineering teams to develop and refine test proceduresConstructs and maintains various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order with little supervisionBenefits: We offer an attractive compensation and benefits package, including health, dental, STD, LTD, Life, IRA with generous company match, paid Holidays, vacation and more.
