Part-timeDescriptionEnglish Language TeacherSan Antonio TXDescriptionFLSA Status: Non-Exempt HourlyReports to the Coordinator of Lifelong Learning ProgramSchedule: Part-Time normally during standard business hours (8-5) with some evenings as required.Summary: The Mexican American Catholic College seeks an English Language Teacher for a part-time position. Candidate must have ESL experience and a strong foundation in teaching reading writing grammar listening speaking and pronunciation. Candidates must be able to respect and support the Mexican American Catholic Colleges mission its Catholic identity and its pedagogy of mutuality.RequirementsRequirementsPosition Responsibilities:Preparing for and effectively teaching grammar conversation pastoral conversation and/or phonetics classesIncluding the language lab in classesCorrecting homework promptly and providing feedback for students andProviding tutoring for students as neededCoordinating classes with other teachersAttending daily or weekly (as necessary) teachers meetingsContributing to long-term planning and curriculum developmentPreparing evaluations or exit forms as requested at the end of each sessionKeeping attendance recordsConducting oral interviews of new students at the beginning of each sessionAttending liturgy and prayer with studentsAttending weekly Program Department meetingsMinimum Qualifications:Education:BA in English or Education strongly preferredExperience:Experience in teaching English as a New Language to adultsLicense and Credentials:Bilingual in Spanish and EnglishReliable transportationValid drivers licenseValid vehicle insuranceMinimum of Knowledge of Skills:Knowledge in Transparent Language Online preferred;Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church;Ability to develop professional relationships and work well with others in the MACC community;Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office Suite applications;Must have good multitasking skills;Must be detail-oriented organized self-motivated work well independently and on a team;Must have good effective written and verbal skills.
