Job ID: 5597Position posted: November 26 2025The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a motivated Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer to develop integrate and test satellite ground system solutions. Working closely with the Program Manager and Lead Systems Engineer the successful candidate will assist with tracking requirements risks interfaces configurations and other essential systems engineering activities. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with a broad technical foundation across multiple engineering disciplines strong analytical and communication skills and a desire to contribute to team-based problem-solving in a dynamic mission-driven environment.The Strategic & Military Space Division delivers advanced satellite and sensor systems that support the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Become part of a team dedicated to making a tangible contribution to our nations defense capabilities.Key Responsibilities: Supports Program Manager and Lead Systems Engineer in technical management of projects through tracking risks requirements interfaces configurations and related tasksDirect support of the government customer that involves daily interaction and a high level of professionalism.Coordinate and integrate interdisciplinary engineering efforts across software hardware thermal structural optical electrical and related domains.Define develop and manage interfaces between development teams to ensure consistent understanding alignment and technical integrity throughout development.Gather system-level requirements evaluate design alternatives perform systems analysis and decompose solutions into actionable engineering tasks.Required Qualifications: Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security ClearanceBS in engineering or related science and 0-5 years of relevant experience or a MS and 0-3 years of relevant experienceBasic knowledge of multiple fields: mechanical electrical thermal optical software controls astrodynamics navigation propulsion or guidanceKnowledge of system engineering tools and analysis methodsProficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively both individually and within a team environmentStrong technical problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong attention to detail while still having a system-level perspectiveMust be able and willing to travel as some travel may be requiredPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Agile methodologies to define requirements and develop systemsExperience with national security and Air Force space and ground systemsExperience with Command Control Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC)Knowledge of satellite communication protocols and standardsKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices related to satellite operationsExperience with satellite ground station equipment including antennas and RF systemsFamiliarity with cloud computing platforms and their integration with ground systems*Salary Range$65000 - $95000Salary commensurate based on education and experienceThis range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as role level location market conditions and individual qualifications including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training.
