DescriptionThe State & Local Tax team at RubinBrown assists clients with various taxes imposed by state and local jurisdictions and helps clients keep track of ever-changing state and local tax laws and regulations. Our team offers a variety of consulting compliance and dispute resolution services to allow clients to focus on their day-to-day operations and fulfill future growth. Our State & Local Tax services include income & franchise tax real & personal property tax sales/use tax gross receipts transactional taxes credits & incentives and multistate tax physical (MTP). This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in multistate tax compliance research and consulting across a variety of industries.Major ResponsibilitiesPreparation and analysis of both corporate and pass-through entity state and local income franchise personal property and sales/use tax returns across various industries and numerous states and citiesAssist with apportionment calculations state modifications and estimated tax paymentsResearch and analyze state and local tax laws regulations and rulings; prepare written summaries and memosSupport state tax audits by gathering documentation and drafting responses to information requests.Collaborate with other members of the tax team to identify opportunities for process improvements and tax savingsStay informed about state tax developments and participate in internal training sessionsPreferred Experience/Background/SkillsBachelors degree in Accounting or related degree Masters degree in Accounting is preferredStrong technical skills with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement in evolving technology environmentAbility to meet challenging client requirements provide services and possess strong communication interpersonal analytical and research abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interest in state and local taxation and willingness to pursue continuing education and a CMI or CPA certificationAbility to build relationships and work collaboratively across departments and levels One FirmTo foster a highly respected inclusive culture that helps foster and promote an environment that is diverse and equitable for all team members and the firm to achieve growth and deepened expertise.
