Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team of design professionals in our Richmond, VA office. Position will start in May 2026 upon graduation.Typical design tasks include stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics, erosion and sediment controls and other water resources engineering tasks. We provide an Excellent Work / Life Balance and an opportunity to work a Hybrid (Combination of Office and Remote) schedule. This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your career, and seek advancement as a Water Resources Engineer. In addition to supporting projects in their assigned office, the candidate may be involved with other AMT offices and project opportunities.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for Advertisement and Construction.Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies.Establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members.QualificationsBS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus in Water ResourcesProficient with Microsoft Word and ExcelKnowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling (drainage, SWM, floodplain) with commonly used softwareSuccessful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) Exam preferredDesign knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3DExcellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbalWhy Join AMT?At AMT, we understand that our most valuable asset is our staff.
