Our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) mission focuses on providing tools resources and environments that support safe efficient healthy behaviors and proactively encourages employees to lead their health and well-being.To assist with delivering upon our mission Chewy is seeking a full-time EHS Specialist to serve as a designated shift representative for our Jessup PA. Fulfillment Center (FC) coordinating and implementing all areas of the Chewy EHS Program as encouraged by leadership. The EHS Specialist promotes a positive environment while following Chewy standards and maintaining a safe work environment. Whatyoulldo but not limited to:Demonstrate passion forEHS.Serve as the designated EHS shift representative coordinating and implementing all areas of the Chewy EHS Program as coached by the Site EHSM.Influence behavior and encourage dedication on the part of all Team Members in following Chewy EHS standards andmaintaininga safe work environment.Training and mentoring Team Members onobservedat-risk behaviors.Support leadership efforts to ensure compliance with corporate EHS Program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.Identifyand communicate leadership of compliance issues EHS risks and improvement opportunities by performing daily weekly and monthly audits.Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed and new equipment introductions.Recommendappropriate riskmitigation measures to leadership including ergonomic considerations.Facilitate the incident investigation process.Maintainaccuratedaily weekly and monthly metrics applying corporate-based reporting systems to provide onsite leadership with data to mitigate injuries and incidents.Maintain required paperwork to follow EHS standards.Perform required standard of work observations and audits.Train andassistTeam Members in completing their EHS responsibilities.Perform specific EHS training as required by the EHS Manager.Demonstratestrong communication collaboration analysis and customer-centric skills.Demonstrate the ability to analyze accident data new processes and equipment for potential EHS concerns and conduct jobhazardand job safety analyses.Whatyoullneed:High school or equivalent diploma.A minimum of 1 year in an EHS related field OR a bachelors degree in EHS-relevant field OR 6 months experience performing in a safety-related role within Chewy.Knowledge of OSHAregulationsspecifically 29 CFR 1910.Experience using Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint in a professional capacity.Able tomaintainconfidentiality in matters involving personnel issues.Ability to develop and implement departmentobjectivesand strategies.Available to work flexible shifts including days nights and/or weekends.Bonus:Bachelors degree or higher preferably in an EHS-relevant field.Experience leading and mentoring a team.Experience in emergency response with active First Aid and CPR certificates.Experience with Intelex Avetta Asana Smartsheet Safety Management Systems Microsoft Office or other similar workspace software.Why Chewy:Comprehensive benefits package including medical dental and vision.Team member discounts andperks.Collectiveand dynamic work environment.Opportunities for professional growth and development.We offer the following benefits for Team Members:20% DiscountMedical Dental VisionFSAand HSA (eligibility on the 1st of the month following date of hire)Life and Disability Insurance401(k) with company matchingWellness benefits through Wellbeing @ChewyEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid Time Off: Team Members are eligible toaccrueup to80 hoursof PTO their first yearSubsidized child adult and pet backup care through Discounts on many items through theLifeMartDiscount platformTheoptionto sign up forPayactivsEarned Wage Access program and access aportionof the moneyyouvealreadyearned beforeyour regular payday!Opportunity for wage increases starting after 3-months of serviceReferral Bonuses - $500 per referralRequired Experience:IC Key Skills Floor Care,Hospital Experience,Hospitality Experience,Computer Skills,Environmental Services,Cleaning Experience,OSHA,Contract Management,Team Management,Custodial Experience,EHS,Commercial Cleaning Employment Type : Full Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
