Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist Location: Centerville Iowa What were looking for:The EHS Specialist will partner with the site operations team to help drive safety as a core value. The EHS Specialist will work under the direction of the EHS Manager.What youll be responsible for in this role: Provide direct support to the plant EHS Manager and plant staff: investigate recognize report and recommend corrective actions on safety and environmental compliance issuesCommunicate safety priorities regulatory updates and corrective actions clearly and consistently across the facilityCoordinate with supervisors and shop floor personnel to engage in daily safety discussionsConduct daily Gemba walksAssist with incident investigationsLearn read understand and communicate EHS regulatory requirementsDevelop and deliver clear effective EHS training to employees in alignment with OSHA requirements and company policiesAudit and maintain systems to ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental programs of facilityIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety and environmental compliance Support OSHA compliance inspectionsPerform other duties as assignedWhat are the basic qualifications Associate degree or in lieu of education minimum of 5 years of relevant experience At least 2 years of experience in an EHS roleOSHA 30-Hour General Industry TrainingKnowledge of safety (OSHA NFPA & ANSI) and environmental (EPA) regulationsStrong Communication and Presentation skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and Power PointWhat are the preferred qualificationsPrevious EHS experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentAbility to contribute and participate in a team environmentAbility to accomplish assigned tasks provide feedback construct plans and demonstrate confidence in team leader and member roles.The ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.To be a great fit for the role:Experience in Enablon or other EHS platformsStrong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulatory requirementsExperience in coaching training networking and facilitationHow We Define Our Values and Why You Should Join Our Team:The backbone behind our collection of outstanding businesses is a team of dedicated employees who protect and enhance our valued reputation for quality and delivering what we promise.
