Job Title: Environmental Lab Technician III - US Location: West Point VA Duration: 3 Months Job Type: Contract Maximum Submissions per Supplier: 2 Note: Shift: 5 to 8-hours days. Chemistry Degree (or industrial lab experience) Top Required Skills: Environmental sampling and testing (wastewater storm water groundwater) Analytical laboratory testing (BOD COD TSS pH etc.) Strong time management and attention to detail Must-Have Skills: Ability to perform VPDES-required wastewater storm water and upstream sampling Experience with groundwater well sampling and tank/waste area inspections Ability to perform analytical tests on raw materials intermediates finished product and wastes Competence in running BOD analyses Proficiency with Excel MS Word PowerPoint Outlook Ability to work in an industrial environment with required PPE Strong communication skills for reporting unusual results or deficiencies Ability to lift 40 lbs and hold a valid drivers license Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience in an industrial laboratory setting Knowledge of RCRA characterization Familiarity with preventive maintenance of lab instruments Experience preparing samples for shipment to off-site labs Key Responsibilities & Duties: Perform environmental compliance sampling for the VPDES permit including effluent wastewater storm water and upstream samples Conduct groundwater well sampling and support tank and environmental regulatory requirements Execute analytical tests on raw materials intermediates finished products and wastes for quality assurance Inspect tanks and hazardous waste accumulation areas document deficiencies and report issues Enter analytical results into databases/spreadsheets and prepare samples for off-site testing Support mill safety production and customer satisfaction goals; participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotations Requirements: Bachelors degree in Chemistry with 1 year lab/industrial experience OR Associate degree with 2 years industrial lab experience OR proven BOD testing competence Strong time management attention to detail dependability and ability to work with minimal supervision Physically able to work in an industrial facility (walk climb stairs lift 40 lbs wear PPE) Valid drivers license for accessing sampling locations Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime weekends and holidays as required Key Skills Asbestos Abatement,Construction Experience,Data Collection,Environmental Services,Industrial Maintenance,Cleaning Experience,Mechanical Knowledge,OSHA,EPA,Excavator,EHS,Troubleshooting Employment Type : Full Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
